Tired of crowded restaurants on New Year's Eve? Not enough time to slip in a reservation at a local bar? Disgruntled by the long wait-times for a short-lived countdown? We have a few tips on how to get started on your own New Year's Eve party that will have your friends and family sharing a toast in your name!
Have wine bottles on hand!
There's no better way to energize and animate your party than with a little bit (or a lot) of wine. Wine served early in the evening will go well with almost any snacks, and get your guests relaxed and ready for a night of fun. Don't forget to pick up a bottle of champagne for a midnight toast too! When you're having a lot of guests over, it's also important to have enough glasses for everyone. Our wine tumblers have a variety of colored lids so everyone can keep track of their drinks, and you can worry less about spills. The double insullation will keep your drinks at the optimal temperature all night, and the premium acrylic is safer than your typical glasses for those who may over-indulge.
Have games prepared!
Apart from your everyday card and board games, a few drinking games can make any party a hit. Be sure to try some of our favorites, or come up with your own!
- Wine Taste Tournament: This is a fairly simple game and only requires the drinks you already have! Every participant tastes a variety of wine flavors and guesses the type of wine sampled. The person with the highest number of correct guesses is given a prize, such as a wine bottle of their choosing.
- Two Truths and a Lie: This is a fun get-to-know icebreaker with an edgy twist! Each person writes down two truths and a lie about themselves, and takes a turn announcing what they wrote. Everyone guesses which statement is a lie; if they are wrong, they must take a sip of wine.
- House Rules: This is a very straightforward yet electrifiying game! Every 30 minutes, set funny new rules around the house. If a person breaks a rule, they must take a sip of wine. We like ones that are easy to catch, like no holding wine tumblers with your right hand.
Have a speaker system set up with a back up!
We can't stress enough how important it is to have a speaker system that you know is going to work. You don't want to have all your guests over before you find out you have no way to play music! How many events or parties have you been to where the speaker did not work or you could barely hear the music? It's better to pick up an extra audio jack or a cheap set of speakers as back up than to resort to a DIY cardboard tube phone amplifyer at the last minute. It definitely affects the whole atmosphere and as the old saying goes, "It's better to be safe than sorry."
We know there are a ton of other things you need to get your New Year's Eve party started, but hopefully, these tips gave you a great place to begin! These are on the top of our list because the combination of all three will surely excite your guests and create an entertaining atmosphere. Whether you are having your party outside in the backyard or indoors, our wine tumblers will have you covered from start to finish. Good luck with your New Year's Eve party!
